Heather Caska, MS, CCC-SLP

I always knew that I wanted to help children in one way or another. I first discovered the field of speech pathology after observing a family friend who was working as a speech therapist during a volunteer project in high school. While working in a pediatric clinic after grad school, I continued to work with kids and have conversations with parents where I knew there was “something else going on”. It was then I rediscovered the topic of dyslexia and began researching.

Since 2014, I have dedicated countless hours to increase my knowledge and understanding of language-literacy disorders, specifically dyslexia. In 2015 I attended the Association level training through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE). I am passionate about bringing more dyslexia awareness to the SLP community and increasing early identification of dyslexia.

I live in the East Valley with my husband and our two sweet babies; an ornery “three-nager” and our sassy 8 month old daughter. Dyslexia runs in our family and is a big reason why I do what I do today. I grew up on the shores of Lake Powell and love the Arizona desert; however, my heart belongs to the mountains! I love to read, run, listen to podcasts, and hangout with my family and friends. We are a competitive group and love game nights and playing outdoor games.
